A connective tissue technology that meets real world communities exactly where they are.

What is Community Media Technology?

The Problem We Solved:

Evidence of Outcomes

Despite the recent surge in the adoption of peer support services within addiction treatment systems, there are relatively limited data rigorously evaluating outcomes. These data become even more limited when considering one form of peer support services, such as peer support groups as in the case of this review, due to the nature of peer support services being delivered often in a multitude of combined modalities.

The Solution:

A Single Platform of Integrated Modalities

A little bit about our backstory. We let the story of the data lead the way.

Connection

In the year leading up to COVID, Hero Bridge was being designed to support mentors’ access to resources using smartphone techology and media. The core goal was to inspire and facilitate socialization so mentors and mentees could improve their relationships through seamless access real world events, programs, services and life enriching activities.

Bridge the Divide

COVID changed everything and laid bare a digital divide deeper than simple access to services, but a complete breakdown of the relationships and kinship required to help underserved populations succeed and become sustainable. As a result, Hero Bridge changed - improved- and began to expand itself into an online community right when LA needed it most - during a global pandemic lockdown.

Be the Change

Hero Bridge amplifies programs, mentors and services into one powerful network ecosystem built around the youth. Add to this our inspirational and educational digital media exchange, and we are putting the power of reaching goals where it belongs - in the hands of these youth. The ability to curate one’s own course, within a supportive and nurturing network enables youth and their mentors to experience teachable moments together and live up to the original goal of liberating youth from the detached and depressed living situations that lead to bad outcomes.” - Frank Connelly, developer of Hero Bridge

Let Our Users Tell You

Our pilot with Stepping Forward LA has been nothing short of incredible. Youth and mentors finding each other online, supporting each other as they apply for interviews for jobs, organizing weekend hikes in the LA hills, developing learning tracks for a better future. Even reaching out at 3am when they needed a friendly voice more than ever. Hear their stories from them (produced by them) for the LA2050 grant competition!
